“Role of Youth in Nation Building”
Bharat is the seventh biggest nation in the world with a
large population. It is estimated that the nation’s present population is 1.23
billon out of which more than 60% lie in the age group of 15-37.
The youth of the country belongs to different walks of life they
are Students, employees, farmers, workers and unemployed population.
These young guns of the nation constitute a great force
which can shake the world with its capacity and capability as it is full of
zeal, energy and enthusiasm. The saddest part of the whole scenario is that a
majority of this whole population is directionless they do have immense love
towards the nation but have no idea how to bring it to action, its really
dangerous to keep such unlimited energy idle as it can finally lead to
frustration. It’s a big loss to the
nation if this energy is not tapped in the right direction.
From time to time the incredible ability of this energy have
shook the world with its “pralyanlkari hunkar” which brought exemplary changes
in the world’s socio-economic conditions few example are Indonesia, Czechoslovakia
threw away the tyrant regimes. In recent history Cambodia, China, Cuba, France
changed the face of the world with the revolution wich were incited by the
youths. Even in our country the youth played a pivotal role in overthrowing a
tyrant, Youths like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev boldly faced death with a
smile on their face and a shine in their eyes, thinking that their sacrifice
would ensure a free and prosperous future for the coming generations.
Nation building is a mamothian task and it should be
executed in a strategic manner. All the youth should be included in the noble
activity and should be assigned work according to their capability and
capacity. Including youth in the nation building will serve one more purpose, a
feeling of ownership and oneness would be developed in them which wlould in
turn make them stand united against any anti- national force.
The feeling of patriotism and morality should be impregnated
in their minds at a young age, they should stand against all evil practices
followed in the society without having a feeling of caste n creed and should be
ready for bringing a socio-economic regeneration of the society.
India is an agricultural nation so there may be schemes
connected with the raising the level of production in agriculture. The youth
may be assigned the job of dissemination of knowledge for better farming, new
techniques and proper use of fertilisers and pesticides. What is required
for the above thing is giving adequate training and knowledge to the youth .
Youth are like the most treasured resources of the country
so its very necessary to utilize their immense potential in the right direction,
they should be included in all major decision makings that would be deciding a
secured and proseporous future for them .
By enlisting the cooperation and involvement of the massive
youth army, the government will on the one hand be successful in mobilising
idle man-power, and on the other hand these young people will be saved from
falling a prey to such elements, as utilise them for their own narrow selfish
ends. By employing these persons in some socially useful work, the
possibilities of demonstrations, violence, unrest and turmoil will be largley
minimised. It is therefore, in the national interest that these young men are
attracted towards some sort of developmental activities.
Such involvement of the young people would generate a sense
of pride and self-confidence in them, provided it is accorded adequate appreciation.
It would raise their morale as well. At the same time the sense of patriotism
and of being useful to the society would inhibit them from going astray.
